| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study focused on study is to assess the practices and challenges of change 
management at Ethio telecom central west Addis Ababa region. It was address three basic 
research questions designed to asses practices and challenges of change management. The 
researcher used a descriptive research design. Both quantitative and qualitative data was 
used to produce richer and more complete information to meet the intended goal. The 
researcher use the data collecting instrument such as questionnaire and interview to collect 
the primary data. The secondary data is gathered from literatures and journals. In this study 
the sampling frame comprised of employees holding managers, middle level and lower level 
employees who are representative enough to respond adequately to the research objectives.
This study employed stratified random sampling technique to group the employees. To 
analyse and interpret the data obtained from respondents, descriptive statistics were used. 
The researcher distributed 77 questionnaires to the participant of the study. Out of 77 
respondents, the researcher was able to obtain only 75 fully filled questionnaires. The study 
found major challenges facing in organization in management of change are lack of 
knowledge about the new management models or systems, resistance to change, lack of 
proper rewarding system and other external forces. It was also identified that to manage 
organizational change effectively. As result, the researcher suggested that organization 
appropriate change management practices should be put in place by change managers the 
participative strategy is recommended for change managers. Employ the service of internal 
change managers to work hand-in-hand with such expert employed externally so as to 
facilitate growth in performance and smooth change implementation. Managers are advised 
to anticipate for change especially in the telecommunication industry where changes occur
