dc.description.abstract | The objective of the research is assessing land development and management practices and challenges in Bole Sub-City administration. The study employed descriptive survey research design. Both quantitative and qualitative data were gathered using survey questionnaire. In the survey questionnaire both close ended and open-ended question items were included to triangulate the data. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and SPSS version 26 software. The stratified random sampling techniques is used for sampling. The stratified random sampling techniques is used for sampling purpose. The population sample size is184 which is the beneficiary or the service users and the staff or officials. The findings of the study revealed that land development and management processes are not transparent to the service users. Weak citizen participation in the land development and management and unequal treatment of clients in the service provision were observed as key problems. The study also revealed that service users were dissatisfied on the performance of land development and management officials in their service delivery for different needs. The study recommends that rules of ethics and professional integrity by the land management officers should be put into operation and monitored. The office should award or encourage efficient and outstanding officers and taking corrective measures on those have been engaged in malpractice. Continuous training on customer handling techniques and awareness creation about good governance issues is another recommendation that should be taken in consideration. | en_US |
