The core objective of this study is to examine the effect of organizational culture on
employees’ engagement in Cooperative Bank of Oromia S.C .Organizational culture
is used as an .Independent variable in the conceptual frame work, while employee
engagement is used as a dependent variable. Four research questions and four
objectives were developed to attain the goal. Organizational culture was more
expressed using specific culture elements such as values, norms, artifacts, symbols
culture. With the quantitative research methodology, both descriptive and
explanatory like correlation, ANOVA, and Regression were used. The study used a
target population of 2646 and sample size was, 148. SPSS is used to analyze the data.
The data was analyzed and the results were interpreted using descriptive and
inferential statistics. According to a Pearson correlation analyzes, there was a
statistically significant and positive relationship between employee engagement and
all four organizational culture elements (values, norms, artifacts and symbol). The
remaining three organizational culture elements: norms, artifacts and symbol culture
had significant contribution in predicting employees’ engagement in their respective
order. And also the results of regression analysis, it can be concluded that 51% of the
variation in the employees’ engagement of the bank can be explained by the
organizational culture. Based on the research findings and research conclusions, the
bank should observe the organizational culture and should check whether the
cultures they have consistent approach to doing business are making their employees
more engaged or not.The study recommended that the bank should give emphasis to
all selected organizational culture elements i.e. values culture, norms value, artifacts
culture and symbol culture which had strong influences on employees’ engagement. |
