dc.description.abstract The objective of the study was to assess practices and challenges of strategic planning Implementation Holeta Town, Oromia. Information from secondary and primary data source which was using Questioners, interview and focus group discussion of the researcher. In order to meet the objective of the study descriptive research design is used. Data was organized by using statically package social science version 20 and results are presented as figure, graph and tables. The collected data was analyzed by Descriptive analyzed methods. To meet the purpose of the study the researcher used both quantitative and qualitative (mixed) research approach. Quantitative approach used to analyze and interprets data by using statistical tools and helps to reach conclusion regarding with practices and challenges of strategic planning. It helps to analyze data‘s concerning on research variables and once the data are collected, quantitative approach uses statistical procedures to express the result based on numbers and quantitative forms).Close ended questionnaires were analyzed by quantitative approach. Qualitative approach used to analyze open ended questions and interviews Participants are 240 from these 196 males and 44 females’ was selected from 6 governmental organizations. Consequently probability and non-probability Sampling were used to select respondent by lottery technique and purposive sampling techniques used for select higher experts for interview. There is a significant and positive relationship between the strategic planning and organizational Effectiveness. Based on the major findings, it was concluded the strategic planning for the organization in relation to effectiveness of employee and organization in the Holeta town public sector. Therefore, it was recommended the Town Administration should also give due emphasis to promote strategic planning practices for the organization in regulating roles and responsibility to create opportunity for betterment of public sectors. en_US
