| dc.description.abstract | The primary goal of the study is to evaluate the opportunities and difficulties of good governance in the
Burayu sub city using a few carefully chosen sectors. For the study, five public sectors were deliberately
selected. The study used both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and information was
gathered from sector leaders, staff members of public institutions, the committee of community
associations, and focus group discussions in addition to information gleaned from sector leaders'
interviews. The descriptive analysis made exposed that institutions are on the way striving to achieve
good governance practically in their institutions and challenges as well as the opinion of interview and
FGD participants was used. Based on the analysis conducted using eight core elements of good
governance namely accountability, transparency, equity and equality, effectiveness and efficiency,
participation, consensus orientation, responsiveness and rule of law and different successes and failures
were observed. The full engagement of society, the need for workshops, seminars, and trainings on good
governance, the implementation of institutional capacity building, the formulation of anti-corruption
policies, and the use of robust auditing procedures at the woreda level are all necessary. Based on the
study's findings, the researcher makes the following recommendations for the steps that should be taken
to address the obstacles to good governance: the public sectors should offer a variety of trainings to
officials, staff, and the community in order to address the main issues with good governance that are
related to the attitudes of the public sector's service providers. However, politics and public service
should be kept apart in the public sectors. | en_US |
