dc.description.abstract Background: Low back pain is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal conditions and the most common cause of disability. It is one of the major occupational health problems ranked the highest in terms of years lived with disability. However there is a limitation of studies which directs to improve the health and safety of beauty salon workers. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the magnitude and associated factors of work related low back pain among female beauty salon workers in Bole sub/city, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2023 Method: A facility based cross-sectional study was conducted among female beauty salons who was working in Bole sub/city Addis Ababa city with a sample of 344, from fifty three beauty salons were selected by using simple random sampling. The analysis was done by multivariable analysis using binary logistic regression to analyze the association of independent variables with the dependent variable. Adjusted odds ratio with a 95% CI reported and p-value < 0.05 the variables was used to show significant association. Result: A total of 344 beauty salon workers participated, with a 100% response rate. The study found that the self reported 12 month magnitude of work related low back pain was 225 (65.4%) with 95%CI (60.1-70.4%). Workers who have greater than 5 years experiences [AOR= 8.3 95%CI (3.4-20)], Workers standing for 4-6 hours per day [AOR= 2.736 95%CI (1.29-5.79)], Workers who gave service for >5 number of customer in day [AOR= 5.709 95%CI (2.95- 11.05)], Workers who did not have adjustable chair [AOR= 5.43 95%CI 1.58-18.65], workers on bending and twisting in awkward way [AOR= 3.65; 95%CI 2-6.7].were factors that shows a statically significant association with low back pain. Conclusion: This study has identified that the magnitude of low back pain among beauty salon workers in the Bole sub-city was 65.4%.Work experience, standing position for hours, bending or twisting in awkward way, Workers who gave service for >5 number of customer in day and not using adjustable chair show statistically significant association with low back pain. The Ministry of labor and skill should give special attention to prevent and control the problem by providing proper Occupational health and safety policy implementation in the countr en_US
