Abstract:
This study was mainly focused to assess the roles of Non-Government Organization in improving Social Development in Enchine Town. There are three Compassion International Assisted project in Enchine Town and the researcher selected one project (ET0324) for this study. To address this, the researcher mainly focused on the three variables namely cognitive development, health development and socio-emotional development. Descriptive research design was used and qualitative undertaken. Questionnaires distributed for 150 respondents and 98% returned. Three focus discussions group were participated in. The key informant participants included in the interview questions were project workers, project committee and government organizations. This study assessed the role non-government organization /Compassion assisted project ET0324) in social development. The project distributed 97.1%
educational materials, tutorials classes, school fees for the beneficiaries and they were very satisfies with the supports and 76.9% were strongly agreed that the contribution of cognitive development in enhancement of social development and effect on academic achievement goals. Most of the respondents 96.6% got medical coverage, 81.0% of them very satisfied with medical access and 73.5% of them said major effect that a lack of health development was brings negative effect on social development. 65.3% replied that very important a socio-emotional development was improving social development and reduce social cries. The roles of Compassion International assisted project contribution in cognitive, health and socio-emotional development support and training to improve social development very good 72.1%. The project was working on caregivers Self-Help Group, local sponsorship and local fund raising. However, most of the beneficiaries focused only on delivered materials rather than future goals. It needs awareness creation to escape dependency aid and have to give attention for human development; socially improved generations have a great role in nation development.
