Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to assess Practices and Challenges of implementing as a Change
Management the case of Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority. It was also found out that there was
good Kaizen implementation . To address the objectives, descriptive research design was used,
primary and secondary data and also a mixed research method (i. e of both quantitative and
qualitative data collection methods) were used to collect data from employees, management, and
kaizen officer. The data gathered through questionnaire were analyzed using frequency and
percentage value of the respondents. Data obtained through interview were qualitatively
narrated. The major findings of the study are;, Ethiopian civil aviation is the area where kaizen
practiced successfully. The study concluded that, kaizen implemented successfully in the
organization and the management followed the necessary steps in the implementation
The study recommended that kaizen practices should be well capacitated with change
management knowledge and skills, and the positive results should be always accompanied by
reward and recognition. Further, systematic benchmarking of Kaizen management practices of
similar organizations should be conducted in a planned manner .Finally, the study recommends
that all management and non-management team need to work to sustain this good result and
focus to solve some challenges faced, like lack of attention from government body, no any well structured focal department responsible to ACE . to reduce wastes, to practice kaizen on a
continuous basis and follow the status of kaizen in every workplace.
