Abstract:
This study was conducted to investigate Teacher‟s implementation of grammar teaching in
Communicative language teaching in English as Foreigner: The Case of grade twelve students Ifa
Boru Meta Wolkite Secondary School. The main objective is that whether teacher‟s implementing of
grammar teaching in Communicative Language Teaching while learners learn English as Foreign at
target school. Descriptive survey with the three data tools instrument on the selected participants.
The subjects of this study were 30 randomly selected grade 12 students and 11 EFL teachers by
availability sampling. The questionnaires were distributed for both participants, and four English
teachers and six grade 12 students were interviewed and also eight grammar lessons were observed
on MA holder in TEFL grade twelve in focus in order to triangulate the data gained from
questionnaires ad interviews. Then, data gathered from close ended and open ended questionnaires
analyzed in terms of quantitatively and qualitatively in descriptive statistics such as percentage;
average and frequent value in numerical/statistical (quantitative) statement (qualitative). On the ba
sis of the findings, the study was revealed that grammar teaching in communicative approach was n
ot successfully implemented in the target school due to teacher’s lack of proficiency, interest, and m
isunderstanding about the expected approach, and learner’s bad feeling communicative grammar
teaching
