dc.description.abstract This research paper discuss the effect of organizational culture on employees’ performance in case of commercial Bank of Ethiopia in merkato District. It views organizational culture as the pattern of values, norms, beliefs, attitudes and assumptions that may not have been articulate but shape the ways in which people behave and get things done. The aim of this study is to assess and examine the effect of organizational culture on employee’s performance in commercial Bank of Ethiopia Merkato District. The conceptual frame work is design, taking organizational culture as independent variables and employee performance as dependent variable. The thesis would adopts explanatory research with quantitative and qualitative research approach. The organizational culture questionnaire is adopted from Denison (1990) and the employee performance questionnaire is adopted from Onyango (2014).Prior pilot test is conduct and validity and reliability of the questionnaire is determine before data collection. The study was take target populations with response rate of 167 respondents. Both inferential and descriptive analyses are used to see the relationship and effect of independent variables on dependent variable. Based on the analysis, there is a positive and significant relationship between the four variables of organizational culture (adoptability, mission and vision, consistency and involvement culture) and employee performance. based on the research findings and research conclusions ,major recommendations would offered for possible consideration by CBE Merkato District. Which are mostly related to capability development, performance management system and coordination and integration. Employees’ performance management should be strengthened more and the relationship of performance management system with capability development should be aligned. This should be done through training and development need assessment that brought from the performance management system. Regular feed backing and coaching are also very important. en_US
