Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to investigate the role of moderatly proud governance in 
promoting employee performance in Ambo town public sectors. Population on this study was
Ambo town Public sectors employees. There have been as many as 180 employees involved by 
using census data technique. This study aimed at finding out the role of good governance in 
promoting employee performance in Ambo town with offices of civil service, revenue and 
customs, finance and economic cooperation and cooperative. The methodology used to conduct 
this study was quantitative and qualitative research design where census sampling method was 
employed to select respondents. Questionnaires were made use of to gather raw data from the 
respondents. Secondary data was also used. The data was analyzed using SPSS Version 2020 
software and presented using tables. The role of good governance is as a fully mediator to 
promoting employee performance. This finding that the public sector in Ambo town encourages 
its performance through role of moderately proud governance principles and promoting 
performance of employees. The study further found that role of good governance in promoting 
employee performance in Ambo Town is hindered by various actions such as bureaucracy, 
corruption delays political interference incompetence nepotism poor management action. The 
study lastly concluded the reality role of moderately good in promoting employee performance in 
these four offices of Ambo Town. The study recommended that, to improve employee 
performance in Ambo town, the management of Ambo Town should ensure that all staffs are 
aware of the principles of good governance and adhere to them in their day to day activities. It 
was suggested, Ambo Town, to pay attention to staff and human resources development 
strategies with appropriate training packages to enhance knowledge of moderately proud 
governance in promoting employee performance in Ambo Town.
