Abstract:
The purpose of this paper was to assess the practice, opportunities and challenges of dry port
service delivery in Mojo dry port. Descriptive research design and quantitative research
approach would be used in order to identify the boundaries of the environment in which the
practices, opportunities and challenges influence dry port service delivery activities. The
researcher has distributed survey questionnaires for the target populations of Mojo dry port
employees those doing in operational activities, 171 employees those taken by census survey and
used as a sample. The data source would be used Mojo dry port employee and questionaries’
and interview is the main instrument for data collection. The data analyzed by using
measurement of central tendency such as mean, measure of dispersion such as, standard
deviation and variance. The finding assess(identify) that dry port practices (warehousing,
distribution, consolidation and un- consolidation service),opportunities and significant
challenges like technology, infrastructures, port dwell time, operational equipment and
manpower skill are identified as determining factors of Mojo dry port service deliveries or
operational activities. These assessment indicates that the way of services practices and
challenging factor (like .technology, infrastructures, port dwell time, operational equipment and
manpower skill) have great impact on the performance/or services delivered at mojo dry port. By
solving impediments/or hindrances, Mojo dry port service delivery performance is good. Based
on the findings of the study, the researcher were recommend that investing on practice and
challenges of dry port service delivery to encourage exporter participants, to solve the problem
of reliability and sustainability of technological system hubs at the dry port, to solve
infrastructures quality standard and minimizing cargo dwell time to use container terminal
efficiently in order to create favorable condition for the attainment of the goal and become world
class competitive dry port through building and upgrading organizational capacity.
