Abstract:
Effective project management started with project planning and good projects are measured by
success in time, cost and quality performance. The relationship between project planning and
project performance should be studied well. The aim of the study is to effect project planning
process and project performance in commercial bank of Ethiopia case of enterprise resource
planning project. Time and cost performance of Enterprise Resource Planning project in
commercial bank of Ethiopia is under performance, whereas the quality performance of the
project is in a good condition. In the study cost and time planning knowledge areas showed poor
performance. Finally, it is recommended that the program management office of the bank should
practice International Project Management Institute project planning knowledge areas
effectively. The objective of the research factors effect of practice of project planning process
and performance of in the context of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project in
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) ,data collected both primary and secondary and Human
input factors and management input factors are the influential factor for project time planning
knowledge area, whereas management factor and technical factor evaluated as the main factor
for human resource and procurement planning knowledge area. It can be concluded as human
and technical input factors are the influential factor for project stakeholder planning knowledge
area.
