Banking service industry is a labor intensive employer who is dependent on the
quality, skills and performance of its employees. Human resource development is
relatively modern term to human resource management as the best means to
prepare staff and organizational based activities which consists of
(organizational development, career development, and training and
development). Human development practice is the major way that organizations
attempt to maintain the competency level of their human resources and to
increase their performance.This study aimed to examine human resource
development impact on employee performance, in case of commercial bank of
Ethiopia. The data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires.
Statistical package for social science (SPSS) was implemented for data analysis.
Descriptive-analytical method was preferred and the result indicates that HRD
practices are significantly related to employees’ performance. The statistically
analyzed result also shows that there is a statistically significant relationship
between HRD and employees’ performance. Furthermore; the study recommends
that the management and other concerning body of the bank should work hard to
develop modern HRD strategies which enable to improve employees’ competency
and enhance their capability to achieve the desired goals and objectives of the
organization. |
