Abstract:
This study was carried out to investigate the determinants of micro and Small scale Enterprises
growth with special emphasizes on service(beverage and food processing),trade(retail shopsand
other activity),manufacturing(wood and metal works),construction sectors. A cross sectional
survey design was employed using 153 respondent for the study .A simple random sampling
technique was also employed to identify the sample respondents .Mixed methods such as
questioner, focus group discussion and key information interview were used to holistically capture
all the relevant data; and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The finding of the
study indicate that, there is correlation between the observed value ofmicro and Small scale
enterprises growth(dependent variable)and the optimal linear combination of the independent
variables. The study elicit five major factors that affect the growth of micro and small scale
enterprises in NonoWoreda; and these include financial, marketing, government, infrastructure
and managerial factors. To makemicro and Small scale enterprises sectors competitive and
profitable, it necessitates tackling the factors that determine the growthofmicro and Small scale
Enterprises sectors; and equally it needs to improvemicro and Small scale enterprises
managerial skills through continuous trainings and experience sharing programs
