Time management plays a vital role on employees’ performance and organization survival in these globalized market places, which is characterized by cutthroat competition. As such, the present study aimed to examine the effect of time management practices on employees’ performance and organization survival with reference to Mugher Cement factory. A census of 178 employees working at Mugher Cement factory working at Burayu (Tatek plant) were used as a study population. Since the number of employees were manageable the entire 178 sample size were taken and questionnaire was distributed. Three questionnaires were not returned on time and 175 valid questionnaires were used in this research.. For this study both descriptive and explanatory research design were employed. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected and analyzed by using questionnaire and interview schedules, respectively. Data collected using both methods were sorted and summarized and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The results of the study revealed that Effective time management practices such as Goal setting, Task prioritization, scheduling routines and self-monitoring had significantly improved employee productivity, made scheduling of jobs easier, make staff to perform tasks at their highest skill level, helping staff to prioritize and accomplish important task, recording and guiding the organization towards achieving its set goals. Effective time management makes planning of task assignment simpler, makes staffs perform duties at their most noteworthy and best ability level, empowers prioritization and achievement of significant errands, encourages recording and controlling of the work environment towards achievement of its set objectives, and improves staff efficiency. The adjusted R2 shows the degree of variation in Employee performance that can be explained by variation in Time Management. Inferring from the adjusted R2 (Coefficient of multiple determination), 65.1% of variations in employee’s performance is accounted for or explained by variations in time management. From the results of the study it’s concluded that there is a significant relationship between time management and employee’s effectiveness and organizational work performance. The results section was there a clear indication that employees lacked these skills or showed poor time management. Finally, since employees have a gap on time management practices; it’s recommended that Mugher Cement Factory need to provide training on time and priority management for significantly improving organizations performance. |
