The aim of this study was to assess the effect of managerial skills on employee’s job satisfaction the case of west show zone, ambo districts selected public sectors.Using a mixed-methods approach and data were collected from 182 employees via questionnaires and interviews. Descriptive and inferential analyses, including multiple regressions, the researcher employed both descriptive and explanatory research designs as well as quantitative research approach was used. The study were used both primary and secondary data sources and structured questionnaires were used to gather data from the targeted group of the study through survey was used and Five Likert scale structured questionnaires were used for data collection. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were checked by using Cornbrash’s alpha test. The study targeted employees of west Shoa zone and Ambo districts public sectors which are 182 employees. Data was collected using a closed ended questionnaire. The collected data were presented and analyzed using the SPSS statistical software package. Data collected were coded and analyzed using both descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Multiple regression and Pearson correlation) revealed that team skills had the strongest positive impact on job satisfaction (β = 0.699, p < 0.001), ), followed by leadership (β = 0.161, p = 0.051) and management skills (β = 0.090, p = 0.045). Employees highly valued fairness, accountability, and constructive feedback but identified gaps in leadership communication and employee input recognition. Qualitative insights emphasized the role of collaborative environments and open dialogue in enhancing satisfaction. The findings suggest that improving (managerial) leadership skills, particularly teamwork and management skills agreement can significantly boost job satisfaction, thereby recommending targeted training and policy interventions for public sector organizations. |
