Abstract:
The objective of this study is to examine the effect of job satisfaction on employee Turnover of
Commercial bank of Ethiopia Holeta and surrounding area. The study was designed to conduct
in descriptive and explanatory research design. Data was collected by self-administered
structured questionnaire from Commercial bank of Ethiopia Holeta and surrounding area. The
study employed both simple random sampling and stratifies probability sampling techniques. A
total of 167 questionnaires were distributed out of which 165 were collected which implies
98.8% were completed by the respondents. The collected questionnaires were loaded in SPSS
v23 and descriptive and inferential (correlation and multiple regressions) analyses were
employed to analyze the collected data’s. The finding of the study shows that employee turnover
has negative and significant relationship payment, promotion opportunity, supervision, nature of
work and achievement. Similarly the regression analysis result revealed that five independent
variables (PAY, PRO, NAW, SUP, and ACH) accounted for 57.4% of the variation employee
turnover and the rest 42.6% are unidentified variables by this study. The study finds that at the
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Holeta and surrounding area, job satisfaction has a major impact
on employee turnover, with elements like compensation, prospects for advancement, supervision,
the nature of the work, and achievement having a substantial negative correlation with turnover.
By addressing these issues, organizational stability may be increased and staff turnover can be
successfully decreased. Therefore, the study recommended that the management of the bank is
advised to enhance supervisory support, enhanced pay, and fair promotion, creating good
working environment and giving due recognition to its employees in order to lower employees
turnover.
