Organizations are commonly defined as instruments of propose. They are seen as coordinated by intentions and
goals. Organizational performances in this way typically devote little attention to complications of using such
formulation to characterize that the casual of performance phenomena. This study had concentrated on factor
influencing organizational performance at Oromia construction Corporation (OCC). The aims of the study are to
examine the performance of the company and the most significant factors that influence the performance of OCC.
The researcher had analyzed four factors that influence organizational performance which is staff motivation,
working environment, training and skill, and management involvement. A mixed research approach is utilized to
triangulate and support the data and result collected. A total of questionnaires was distributed to 125 staffs at
OCC by hand and only 120 questionnaires were returned for analysis. The data had been analyzing by using
Statistic Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to analyze the correlation and regression between deepened and
independent variables. The analysis was done by both Descriptive statistical and Inference statistical analysis.
Research findings revealed that there was significant relationship between working environment, staff motivation,
training and skill, and management involvement with organizational performance. This research finding indicates
that the performance of Oromia Construction Corporation is affected by staff motivation, working environment,
training and skills, and management are influencing the organizational performance. The multiple regression
results had shown that the all-independent variables affect the performance of OCC of which is training and skill,
and management involvement are a significant predictor for organizational performance. The recommendations
included training and skill upgrading within construction firms and establishment of more middle level technical
colleges in order to improve availability of skilled manpower. A strong policy of employee motivation should be
designed and implemented.
The organization should organize an early retirement plan for the old employees and employ young and fresh
blood who may be able to pump in new ideas to the organization. |
