dc.description.abstract The purpose of the research is to examine the effect of employee promotion practices on job satisfaction in case of cooperative bank of oromia in east arsi zone district, oromia national regional state. Specifically this study aims, to find out the reaction of employee on promotional opportunities available in Bank, to assess how promotion policy affects job satisfaction and to evaluate the relationship between promotion practice and job satisfaction. A sample of 384 respondents having 318 responses have correctly filled and returned which accounted 83% of response rate, A questionnaire was distributed to the respondents. The data was collected through questionnaire and by using descriptive statistics in SPSS Version 26. The result of the aggregate mean of all promotional opportunities, promotion policy, the relationship between promotion practice and job satisfaction related items was lies between the range of [3.5 - 4.49] and it felt high mean range section and used to examine the effect of employee promotion practices on job satisfaction in case of cooperative bank of oromia. The study found a positive relationship between promotion practices and job satisfaction. The findings of this research emphasize the critical role of promotion practices in shaping employee job satisfaction within the Cooperative Bank of Oromia. By addressing issues such as fairness, transparency, and meritocracy in promotion policies, organizations can create a more conducive work environment that fosters employee satisfaction and engagement. This study underscores the pivotal role of promotion practices in shaping employee perceptions and job satisfaction within Cooperative Bank of Oromia. It highlights the importance of transparent, merit-based promotion policies in fostering a positive work environment and enhancing employee morale. By understanding and addressing the factors influencing employee reactions to promotion practices, organizations can develop more effective strategies for promoting job satisfaction and enhancing overall organizational performance. It is recommended that the Cooperative Bank of Oromia and similar organizations focus on promoting transparency, fairness, and meritocracy in their promotion policies to foster a supportive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction and organizational success en_US
