dc.description.abstract Background: If the patient brought at least one household contact for TB screening within two months of initial diagnosis ,they will be considered as adherent and otherwise not-adhere. Since there was no research-based information in South West Shoa Zone regarding household contact screening adherence among TB patients, this study assessed the magnitude and factors associated with household contact screening adherence. Objective: This study aimed to assess magnitude of household contact screening adherence and associated factors among TB patients attending directly observed treatment at health facilities in South West Shoa Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia ,2022. Methods: Health facility based cross-sectional study design was conducted among tuberculosis patients attending directly observed treatment at health facilities in South West Shoa Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia, 2022. Systematic random sampling method was used to select 377 study subjects from each selected health facilities. Pre-tested and structured interviewer administered questionnaire was used to collect data. The data was entered in to Epi-Info version 7 and then exported to SPSS version 20 software for analysis. Descriptive statistics were carried out to illustrate the means, standard deviations, and frequencies. Binary logistic regression analysis was done to identify variables having a significant association with the dependent variable. Results: A total of 362 study participants, participated in this study making a response rate of 96.02% .The magnitude of household TB contact screening adherence was 59.1% . Knowledge of patient on TB (AOR=2.095 (95%CI:1.291,3.400), household visiting by HEW in the last 6 months prior to the study (AOR = 2.532(95% CI: 1.175,5.454), having TB treatment supporter (AOR = 2.585 (95% CI: 1.235,5.409) and health education on TB by HCW/HEW (AOR= 1.795 (95% CI: 1.083,2.977) were significantly associated with household contact screening adherence. Conclusions and recommendations: Knowledge of patients on TB, visiting household by HEW, having TB treatment supporter and health education on TB by HCW/HEW were significantly associated with household TB contact screening adherence. Therefore, it is better focusing on the factors associated with the household TB contact screening adherence en_US
