dc.description.abstract Background: Commitment is a willingness to give time and energy to something that is believed in, or a promised to do something, and an act of binding oneself intellectually or emotionally to a course of action. Professional commitment refers to an individual's attitude toward their career and their drive to remain in their position while being willing to work hard and support the profession's ideals and objectives. Due to a lack committed and motivated health professional in child and maternal care workers in all level, Ethiopia health system are dealing with number of difficulty. Therefore conducting this research has paramount importance to retention of skill professionals, increase team work and collaboration, continual professional development and positive organizational culture. Objective: to assess organizational commitment and associated factors among health professionals working in mother and child health in Addis Ababa federal governmental hospitals. Method: Facility based cross-sectional study design was employed quantitative method and was supported by qualitative method from January 7 to 24, 2024. Structured self-administered questionnaire developed from reviewed literatures was used to collect data from a total of 212 Health professionals. Data was entered into Epi-data Version 3.1 and exported to SPSS version 26 for further analysis. Both descriptive and analytical statics was done and displayed by texts, tables, and figures. Multiple linear regression models were used to see the association between dependent and independent and variables. Coefficient of standard error with their 95% CIs would be computed to see the strength of association. And P-value of <0.05 was used to declare statistically significant variables on the final model. Qualitative data was analyzed manually using thematic analysis method was triangulate with the quantitative data. Result: The response rate was 100%. The percentage mean score of organizational commitment for health professionals working in MCH Addis Ababa federal governmental hospital was 55.19%. This study found that perceived promotion opportunity (95% CI 0.117, 0.34 B 0.371), perceived human resource policy and practice (95% CI 0.089, 0.283 B 0.229), perceived professional training (95% CI 0.065, 0.298 B 0.220), perceived locality of the facility (95% CI 0.024, 0.157 B 0.124), perceived personal characters (95% CI 0.032, 0.241 B 0.194), professional commitment (95% CI 0.032, 0.241 B 0.146) were factors affecting organizational commitment in this study. Conclusion: in this investigation the mean score of organizational commitment and associated factors among health professionals working in child and maternal health in federal governmental hospitals is relatively high. Perceived promotion opportunity, Perceived professional training, Perceived human resource policy and practice, Perceived locality of facility, Perceived personal characters and professional commitment are factors associated with organizational commitment of health professionals working in MCH en_US
