Abstract:
Stress may be defined as a feeling of emotional or physical tension, which rises or is developed by different circumstances or events that occur in our lives, which causes anger, frustration, panic, anxiety or in some cases it causes motivation and haste to beat a challenge. The objective of this research was to assess the impact of stress management over employees’ performance of EKOS steel Mill PLC in Dukem town of Oromia region, Ethiopia. Facility based cross sectional study design was implemented and mixed method (both quantitative and qualitative) approach was used. The analysis was done using uni-variate and includes frequencies distribution and percentages. The finding of this study indicated that, more than half 55.3% of study participants reported as there was stress management practice in their organization. Regarding its effectiveness 6.7% of the respondents agreed that there is effective stress management in their organizations, while the rest 79.3% reported that they disagree that there is no effective stress management in their organization and 11.9 of the respondents are not agree or disagree with the presence of stress management in their organization Based on the findings, it was discovered that stress really affects employees in all aspects of their lives especially in their work place, and the effect on employees directly affects the organization as a whole. Stress is caused by factors both within and outside the organization. Stress in the work place which creates an unpleasant work environment. Based on the findings, it was discovered that stress really affects employees in all aspects of their lives especially in their work place, and the effect on employees directly affects the organization as a whole. Therefore, organizations should commence the initiative to have stress management practices in the work place to handle stress and maintain the good work balance and cooperation. The investigator would like to recommended that organization should act as watch dogs on employee‘s health, both physical and mental well-being and their performance.
