Abstract:
This research investigated the effect of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) dimensions on employee performance within the Ambo town selected public sectors. A cross-sectional field survey design was utilized, incorporating both descriptive and inferential statistics, such as correlation and regression analysis, to interpret the data. To ensure a representative sample, simple random sampling methods were employed. Data was collected through primary sources using a questionnaire and interviews. The analysis was conducted using multiple regression techniques. The findings on innovative thinking revealed positive perceptions of organizational support for innovation and creative problem-solving, though improvements are needed in resource provision and risk-taking support. Regarding organizational resources, while management efficiency, facility improvement, and training programs were viewed positively, concerns about equipment adequacy and organizational structure were noted. Addressing these issues could enhance employee satisfaction and performance. In terms of process function, employees perceived the organization as moderately effective in implementing BPR components. For information technology, the organization was also seen as moderately effective, with the lowest satisfaction in IT-business plan integration, indicating a need for better alignment. The variability in responses, particularly regarding continuous IT training, suggests differing experiences among employees, highlighting areas for potential improvement. Overall, enhancing these BPR dimensions could significantly improve employee performance in the public sectors of Ambo town. The regression analysis indicated that all BPR dimensions such as innovative thinking, organizational resources, process function, and information technology significantly and positively influenced employee performance. Therefore the researcher accepted the alternatives hypothesis. The study suggests that the management of public service sectors in Ambo town should focus on all these BPR dimensions. By integrating Innovative Thinking, Organizational Resources, Process Function, and Information Technology, they can collectively enhance employee performance.
