This study investigates the effect of Total Quality Management (TQM) practices on
the performance of Homicho Ammunition Engineering Industry, one of the largest
armament factories in Ethiopia, using a mixed-methods approach that includes both
quantitative and qualitative data. Data were collected from a sample of 274
employees through surveys, semi-structured interviews, and observations. The
quantitative analysis, conducted using SPSS, revealed significant positive
correlations between TQM practices and organizational performance, with Employee
Involvement emerging as the most influential factor. Qualitative findings further
supported these results, highlighting strengths such as leadership support and
employee engagement, but also identifying challenges such as leadership knowledge
gaps and resource limitations. The triangulated data confirmed that TQM practices
positively impact organizational performance, while also indicating areas for further
improvement. Based on these findings, the study recommends an integrated training
strategy that enhances leadership skills and deepens employee engagement to
strengthen TQM implementation and improve overall organizational effectiveness.
