This thesis study was conducted in Ethiopia aiming on assessing supply chain governance
and performance of edible oil Addis Modjo edible oil Complex S.C., Kokeb Kana edible oil
factory, and W.A. oil Factory and Distribution plc. The study employed a Descriptive design
which has been used to describe the analysis of the collected data. The sampling population
of this study was the staff of the three companies who are working directly in those factories,
end final consumers, wholesalers, and oil seed suppliers (supply chain actors).
To collect important information the investigator distributed 225 questionnaires from this
225 were returned and analyzed with a response rate of 100%. Data was analyzed using
SPSS software. The descriptive analysis findings demonstrated that the practices level of
determining factors such as interaction of supplier and manufacturer moderate, oilseed
supplier has no linkage with farmers and bulky traders, and the size of chain actors
contributes a high rate of a percent to the imbalance of supply and demand moderately
implemented in these company. Based on these findings, supply chain governance (SCG) and
performance have a relationship, the absence of good SCG has a significant impact on
performance, and Supply chain performance management indicators reveals real company
growth status.
The researcher has recommended that supply chain governance and the performance of
edible oil, the linkage of all chain actors shall be persistently improved, companies would be
act on monopolization of distributors, the manufacturing companies give a chance and
encourage role model oilseed suppliers similarly do on edible oil distribution as well as
manufacturing companies would develop, and enable customers (suppliers, wholesalers, and
other actors) to interact in many wings, and give value to customer relationships. |
