dc.description.abstract The knowledge of the fungibility and renewability potential of natural resources are critically determined by knowledge, attitude and practices of existing resources uses. The purpose of this study was to conduct on the knowledge, attitudes and practices of existing land uses practices by farmers. Data was collected by interview on socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitude and practices of land use from selected respondents. The study was employed purposive sampling techniques and the target population of this study consisted of 1050 of Dandi District farmers and 263 respondents were selected by statistically. Generated data were analyzed by Spss, 24 version The results revealed that, knowledge, attitude and land use level of farmers were, agricultural, agroforestry, grazing land and unproductive land (64.6%), (22.8%), (10.6%) and (1.9%) respectively. Additionally, the correlation analysis illustrated that, there is a strong positive (r = 0.921, 0.75 and 0.85) between the Knowledge, attitude and land used practice. The farmers’ knowledge, attitude and land use practice of were mainly shaped by their local knowledge with limited influence of technical knowledge. Additionally, the younger and the educated respondents had better knowledge, attitudes and land uses practices. Moreover, the accessibility of education and information had its own contribution to the KAP of literacy of respondents. Based on the finding of this empirical study at household level, all concerned bodies such as governmental, NGOs’ and the farmers should give emphases for those factors which positively impact the existing land resource uses and the management practices intended to raise the knowledge, attitude and practices level of farmers through formal training. en_US
