Fertilizers increase agricultural production and productivity of the country which is important to achieve foods security of the rural people. The main objective of the study was to identify factor affect small holder farmers to use fertilizer in ambo district. In the study both primary and secondary data was used to investigate various factor which impact of wealth on fertilizer use. Primary data was collected from 100 sample respondents selected by using simple random sampling technique from the total house-hold of the study area. Interview was the best method used to collected different data from sample respondents in the study area. The gathered data was analyzed by using econometrics and descriptive method to show factors affect demand of fertilizer in Ambo district.
The result of Tobit model show that family size, credit availability, income, education is the most factor affecting inorganic fertilizer use.
Inorganic fertilizer price, interest rate or cost of cost of capital and development of rural feeder roads for timely delivery of inorganic fertilizer improved extension service and education are areas where intervention needed |
