dc.description.abstract In this thesis, the First Integral method is applied to construct an exact Travelling Wave solu tion of (2 + 1)−dimensional nonlinear Boussenesq equation. It is shown that the method pro vides a powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics and applied mathematics.The travelling wave solution are expressed interms of expo nential function, the hyperbolic function, trigonometric function and the rational function.The procedure of the method is simple, direct and constructive without the help of computer alge bra system. The First Integral method used in further works to establish more new solution for other kinds of nonlinear evolution equation arising in mathematical physics and engineer ing.Finally the method is powerful and effective method to solve (2+ 1)−dimensional nonlinear nonlinear Boussenesq equations. en_US
