Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to assess the major relation between school resources utilization and student academic achievement in governmental primary school in Ambo town Administration .To achieve the purpose of this study, descriptive research design such descriptive statist such as percentile, mean as well as correlation method. The descriptive survey helps to collect detail and factual information about the present phenomenon .Furthermore the correlation design of research helps to assess the relation between school resources such as material, human utilization and student academic achievement. In addition, mixed research method or both quantitative and qualitative employed to gather a large variety of data. The study conducted in three government primary schools such as Saden Liban, Awaro and Ambo. To achieve this study the researcher used different types sample techniques such as simple Random sampling, systematically sampling and purposive. Therefore, simple random sampling applied to gather information from teacher, systemically sampling for student but purposive used for school leader, member of KETB as well as administrative educational expert. The total sample size were 360.Among these 328 were students, 25 teachers, 3 school leaders ,3 member of KETB and 1educational expert . The data gathering tools employed questionnaire, interview, observation of the reality of the sample school as well as and document observation .Further more Questionnaire administered to students and teachers whereas interview conducted with member KETB and administrative educational expert. The study employed both primary and secondary data sources and the data analysis method used percentage and mean as well as correlation method by using SPSS version 21 .As the finding result shows that there were no relation between school resources utilization and student academic achievement in Ambo governmental primary school because in the absence educational resources in the primary school the student score highest mark at class average as well as regional examination which possible to see from attached document to verify it. On other hand there were different observable problems in government primary school in Ambo town related to material as well as human resources utilization. Based on the finding of the study, the researcher directed the recommendation for the concerned stake holders to take immediate action to solve the problems that happen in governmental primary school.
