dc.description.abstract Street children rehabilitation is a major problem in Addis Ababa city as the numbers keep rising despite rehabilitation efforts. The current study was to assess the factors affecting the effectiveness of rehabilitation of street children in Addis Ababa, focusing on the Gulele, Yeka, and Addis Ketema sub-cities. A quantitative research design was used. A sample of 249 respondents was selected through simple random sampling and data collected through questionnaires. To achieve the above stated objective of the study both descriptive and inferential statistics have been employed. The descriptive analysis showed that the frequency and mean sore of the above findings as indicated limited number respondents agreed, but the major respondents were disagreed and unable to decide on influence of psychological and emotional support variable, impact of educational and vocational training opportunities variable, community engagement in rehabilitation programs of questionaries’ measurement. From the result of correlation there is a clear indication of strong association between factors affecting rehabilitation of street children measures and effectiveness of street children rehabilitation programs. All factors affecting rehabilitation of street children measures have a significant effect on effectiveness of rehabilitation of street children programs in the study area. Influence of psychological and emotional support variable are the dominant determinants of effectiveness of street children rehabilitation program whereas impact of educational and vocational training opportunities variable is the second determinants of effectiveness of street children rehabilitation programs. Community engagement in rehabilitation programs is the third level determinants of effectives of street children rehabilitation programs in the study area. In conclusion, the findings emphasize the importance of holistic support, particularly focusing on psychological and emotional well being, while also highlighting the need for continued efforts to enhance educational and vocational opportunities and foster community engagement. By addressing these areas, rehabilitation programs can maximize their effectiveness in assisting and empowering street children in Addis Ababa en_US
