dc.description.abstract Unfair trade competition has a number of effects on consumer and government. Unfair trade practice like dishonest trade practice, an act that misleads the consumers/business communities and those acts which endangers the business competitor has great impact on consumers. The act which constitute as unfair trade practice is also defined by the proclamation. The following shall be deemed acts of unfair competition. Different laws have been enacted in order to curb the act of unfair trade practice. In Ethiopia the Trade Competition and Consumers Protection Proclamation (No. 813/2013) is currently regulating the unfair trade practice. But in India the competition Act 2002 and its amendment laws regulate the unfair trade competition. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to compare the unfair Competition laws existing in Ethiopia and India. To this effect both country laws has been consulted and made comparison. To answer the research question and achieve the objectives at hand, a doctrinal research methodology was being employed via comparative research approach. Both primary and secondary sources have been used as the main sources of data for the research at hand. en_US
