The study aims to examine the Assessment of internal audit practice in the case of Nib International Bank North West Addis Ababa district. Basic specific objectives surrounded; independency of internal audit, scope of internal audit, internal audit quality and competency of staffing of internal audit. The study employed descriptive type of research design in assessing internal audit practice, which can serves as a tool to address the challenges of the bank. The sample size of 125 was determined and census sampling was employed in which data is collected from every individual in the population. Quantitative methods of research approach were employed and data was collected through the use of questionnaires, descriptive analysis was done through the use of statistical packages for social sciences version 26. The result of the study indicated that internal audit department is independent from management influence and internal auditors are not seeking feedback from senior management. Based on these findings, the study recommends that Nib International Bank North West Addis Ababa district need to establish a structured feedback mechanism to enhance communication between auditors and management, promote transparency, and provide valuable insights for improving audit processes and addressing organizational challenge |
