Training youth athletes in academies were the most important program in which athletics development through acquiring necessary knowledge and skills that enhance their athletic performance. The purpose of this study was to investigate challenges and opportunities of youth Athletes for Optimal Athletics Performance among track event trainee Athletes of Sport Academy of Ethiopia. In order to realize this objective, the researcher used descriptive cases study design through quantitative and qualitative methods that help to saw issues in both perspectives. Out of the 323 track event athletes, through simple random sampling technique the researcher was taken only 179 (m=105 and f=74) and four (n=4) coaches of the sport academy were considered as sample of the study. For these particular objectives both primary and secondary sources were collected from participants. The collected data were interpreted and analyzed through appropriated methods and the results of the study shows there were several variables that influence the optimal performances of trainee athletes of the sport academy like training contents, infrastructure for their life accumulation and training facilities.
