dc.description.abstract Background: Intimate partner violence is defined as behavior or act in an intimate relationship that hurts the other person physically, psychologically, or sexually. Intimate partner violence is a global health problem, one in three women experiencing at least one form of intimate partner violence during her lifetime. Even though studies on the magnitude of intimate partner violence against pregnant women have been conducted in Ethiopia, but it is not still studied in Burayu Sub city, Sheger city, Oromia regional state, Ethiopia. The objective of study was to assess the magnitude of intimate partner violence and Associated Factors among Pregnant Women attending antenatal care at health centers in Burayu Sub city, Sheger city, Oromia regional state, Ethiopia, 2024 Methods: Institution based cross-sectional study was conducted in two health center among 362 pregnant women selected using systematic random sampling method from February 01, 2024 to February 30, 2024. Data were collected via face-to-face interviews using a structured questionnaire. Data were entered into Epi info 7.2 and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The results were presented using adjusted odds ratio (AOR) with the respective 95% confidence interval (CI). The strength of associations with the dependent variables was described in odds ratio. P-Value less than 0.05 will be taken as statistically significant. Result: The magnitude of intimate partner violence in the study area was 45.2 % (40.0%- 50.6%). In this study socio demographic characteristics like Customary marriage [AOR = 0.43; 95% CI; 0.213, 0.866; p-value = 0.018]; and partners behioveral factors drink alcohol [AOR = 2.450; 95% CI; 1.292, 4.469; p value = 0.006]; Khat chewing [AOR = 1.78; 95% CI; 1.053, 4.481; p value = 0.001]; cigarrete smoking [AOR = 2.838; 95% CI; 1.451, 4.217; p value = 0.026] were st atistically significant with intimate partner violence. Conclusion and recommendation: magnitude of intimate partner violence was greater than one third of total respondents. Educational status of women, type of marriage, average family monthely income, drink alcohol, chat chewing and cigarrete smoking were associated with intimate partner violence; therefore, awareness creation to the community about associated factors of intimate partner violence during pregnancy and interventions that should address the specified risk factors. en_US
