dc.description.abstract In Ethiopia, chicken production is a mainstay of animal agriculture, where human food production is comparatively fast, initial capital investment is low, and uses are often made by using available household labor. This research aims to identify the participation of households’ to urban egg layers’ poultry production in Holata Town. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches were applied, in order to get all the necessary information on the area under which the research was conducted, primary sources of information were mainly used. From the eight kebeles of Holata town, all kebeles were selected purposively based on the Household participation on egg layer poultry production and as suggested by the authorities of the Bureau of Agriculture. The researcher implemented Tools like; questionnaire, in depth interview with key informants, FGD and personal observation during data collection in accordance of time and place required and in these research to determine it used (Kothari, 2004). Descriptive data analysis methods mean and standard deviations are used to compare the effect of variables. In addition, regression analyses including hypothesis testing are used to evaluate the relationships between dependent and independent variables. The households’ participation on Urban egg layer poultry production is determined by several variables like as age, gender, education, marital status, family size, land availability, market demand and fed cost. Understanding the determinants, performance, and socio-economic functions of this type of poultry production is essential for formulating policies and interventions to support and promote the sector. By addressing the challenges and constraints facing poultry farmers, policymakers, development agencies, and practitioners can help improve the productivity and sustainability of urban poultry production, thereby enhancing food security, income generation, and overall well-being of urban residents en_US
