However, many of them die young, while others suffer from ailments as a result of poor Sexual and reproductive health care and evidence gaps related to Youth friendly service quality.
Objective: The objective of this study was to assess youth-friendly service quality and associated factors at public health facilities in south west shoa zone, oromia, Ethiopia 2022.
Method: A facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 421 randomly selected adolescents and youths from July 28 to August 28, 2022. A systematic random sampling technique was employed to select study participants. Data were collected using a pre-tested structured questionnaire. Data were coded and entered into Epi data version 3.1 and then exported to SPSS version 23.0 for analysis. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were carried out to identify significant factors of the outcome variable. All independent variables with a p-value < 0.25 in the bivariable logistic regression analysis were entered into multivariable logistic regression analysis. Finally, an adjusted odds ratio with 95% CI and P-values < 0.05 was used to declare statistical significance associations of independent variables to the outcome variables.
Results: A total of 414 study participants were enrolled in the study with a response rate of 98.34%. The overall maginitude of adolescent and youth-friendly health services quality was 32.1% (95% CI: 27.6-36.9) and54.42%, 68.39%, and 71.32% for structural, process, and output quality parameters respectively. Occupation (AOR: 1.71; 95%CI: 1.13, 2.68), privacy during the consultation (AOR: 6.47; 95%CI: 3.64, 11.52), and length of waiting time (AOR: 2.52; 95%CI: 1.56, 4.06) were found to be statistically significant associated with Quality of adolescent and youth-friendly health services |
