The primary goal of this research is to investigate the impact of coaches’ efficacy in developing athletes’ performance in the first division of athletics clubs in Addis Ababa. Coach efficacy is critical to the development of athletes’ performance and overall success in sports. A descriptive research design was used for this study, which employed a mixed research approach. The target population for the study was 741, which consisted of 59 coaches and 682 athletes. There were 252 study participants selected as a sample. The collected data was processed using SPSS version 20.0. The methods of data analysis were descriptive statistical techniques, namely frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings revealed that the coaches’ efficacy perceptions could be highly improved in coaching practices. The effectiveness of coaching could lies in maintaining confidence and motivating athletes to execute extraordinary in the areas of mental preparation, self-esteem building, and team confidence. The researcher recommends that the concerned bodies engage in the coaches’ effectiveness to develop the athletes’ skills, self-confidence, and integration in Ethiopian athletics clubs. By enhancing coaching effectiveness in these areas, coaches can contribute to optimizing athlete performance, development, and overall well-being, thereby creating a positive sporting environment conducive to success |
