dc.description.abstract This study seeks to find out the effect of diversity in workplace on employee performance in Addis Ketema sub city health office. The Study adopted descriptive and explanatory research design. The study population consisted of all staff belong to Addis Ketema sub city health office. Sample sizes of 378 respondents were selected and 350 were responded and data collection method was by use of questionnaire, whereby analysis was by use of descriptive and inferential statistics by the help of SPSS version 25.0. The Pearson’s correlation coefficient signifies there is a relationship between each independent variable and the dependent variable and tested at 1% significance level. It also revealed that gender, age, ethnicity, religion and educational background are positively correlated, and the strength of the relationship is good/moderate and has definite relationship to employee performance. The regression analysis shows that, the regression analysis shows that, R Square and adjusted R square of the five independent variables is 0.375 and 0.366 respectively. These also mean that independent variables (Age diversity, Ethnic diversity, Education diversity, Gender diversity, Religious diversity) can explain only 36.6% of the variation in dependent variable (employee performance). However, it still leaves 63.4 % (100% - 36.6%) unexplained in this research. In other words, there are other additional variables that are important in explaining employee performance that have not been considered in this research. It is recommended that company managements better to use good strategies like diversity model to effectively manage workforce diversity and collaborative research efforts should be done to ascertain the contextual variables that moderate workforce diversity to produce positive performance outcomes en_US
