dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was to assess the practices of primary school role of instructional in Dandi woreda, West Shewa Zone, Oromia Regional state. A simple random technique was used to obtain a sample size of 125 respondents for questionnaire. In addition to the aforementioned sample population woreda experts and three supervisors were selected purposively for interview. A descriptive research design, which involved quantitative and qualitative research approach was employed. The data were collected through questionnaires, interview and document analysis.The collected data were summarized and analyzed using descriptive statistics like percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation and inferential statistics like t-test with the help of Statistical Package for Social Scientist version 24. The finding of the study revealed thatteachers were not benefited much from Instructional leadership practice. The study also confirmed that role of instructional strengthen school managers decision making skills, consult the school managers on how to ensure good leadership, consult the school management on how to use resources efficiently, help school managers to manage records and help school managers to manage school improvement program. The finding of the study indicated that the observable changes made to schools as a result of Instructional leadership not as expected. The contribution of role of instructional in improving quality education in the study school were inadequate. The major challenges facing the implementation of Instructional leadership are lack of supervisory skill and knowledge, teachers less acceptance of supervisors, less power and authority to enforce rules and regulations, less support from Woreda Education Office, Other assignments from other sectors and cluster schools resource deficit. The study concludes that the practices of role of instructional in the study area was found to be inadequate. Therefore, it is recommended that providing short term training, providing material and financial resources for role of instructional, giving awareness and additional delegation to the role of instructional to improve the practices of role of instructional en_US
