Abstract:
In this work, the effect of magnetic ordering on superconducting properties of fluorine doped iron arsenic oxide (PrFeAsO1-yFy) was investigated theoretically. A Bardeen, Cooper and Schrieffer
type model Hamiltonian was developed and solved using the equation of motion approach of the Green’s function formalism. The obtained results indicate the increase in superconducting transition temperature with rise in coupling constant. This can be due to the increase in the density of electrons around the Fermi surface or increase in the strength of attractive interaction between the Cooper paired electrons. This could in turn boost the number of Cooper paired electron in the material and helps the system to superconductor at higher temperatures. The superconducting temperature was also observed to decrease with rise in magnetic order parameter. This could be due spin flip effect of the relatively strong magnetic energy. Spin flip effect destroys the coherence of cooper pairs and hence suppresses superconductivity of the system. The magnetic transition temperature was observed to increase with magnetic order parameter. This in turn implies that increasing the number of magnetically ordered spins helps the system to sustain its magnetic behavior at elevated temperatures.
