Abstract:
The main purpose of this study is to assess the challenges and oppurtunity on growth of
the micro small and medium enterprises in Nono woreda., To achieve the overall
objective of the study data were collected from both primary and secondary sources. The
researcher used systematic and purposive sampling techniques; these sectors were
selected with the consultation of the Woreda officials and data obtained from the profile
of different enterprises operating in silk amba and Dirre Godo Town. The main
instrument of data collection was the questionnaire and supported by interview. The data
were presented in tables as frequency, distribution in the data analysis; the techniques of
percentages frequencies and maen were used. Accordingly, challenges of financial
facilities, appropriate working place, government support, marketing networks, personal
related problem, infrastructural facilities as well as leadership efficiencies had very high
effects on the success of the studied area MSMEs. Thus Considering the output of the
research, the study were recommended the following; to reduce financial related
challenges the study recommend MFI, Banks and the concerning bodies come together
and discuss this problem and scratch the solution; besides, reconsiders the procedures, to
reduced leader efficiency among member groups of MSMEs the study recommend that
Nono one place service giving bureau of SMEs may providing experts technical
assistance and training according to the nature of the enterprises.
Finally, in west shoa zone Nono woreda the research will be conducted continuous to
identify the potential challenges of the micro and small enterprises.
