dc.description.abstract The aim of this study was to assess employee saving culture and challenges in burayu city administration. Descriptive and explanatory research design was used. For achieving the objectives of the study primary source of data was used and questionnaire used as a tool to collect the data. A total of 154 questionnaires were distributed to employees of burayu city administration. From the distributed questioners for a respondents of 148 (96.1%) were collected from the total sample size of 154 respondents and used in the data analysis. The nature of this study was cross sectional survey design with both qualitative and quantitative research approach was used. Data was collected through close ended, self-administered questionnaire using five-point Likert scales from existing employees. The collected Data was entered, edited and analyzed using (SPSS) version 25. This study was used descriptive statistic. The expected Findings of the investigation tools were proved that employee saving culture and challenges was poor in the case of burayu city administration. Findings of the investigation tools proved that saving culture is not practiced in administration in a structured way but some of its components exist in terms of Income level, Age of employee, Employee housing status, Risk (uncertainty) and nature of employee, Household marital status, Economic and political stability, Employee educational level, Corruption, Natural Calamities, Religion factor and Cultural beliefs. This study recommends that the administration should be concerned about compatibility of formalized and structured practice to the employee. Burayu city administration should revise periodically the rules and policies of saving culture by participating and discussing with peoples of the administration and employees in burayu city administration. en_US
