Abstract:
Effect of aerobics exercise mainly effect in health related components of fitness. The
physical development refers to the growth of the physical body such as bone, muscle,
organs. Physiological development on the other hand refers to the body capacity to
increase certain function of the body. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect
of aerobics exercise selected on physical and physiological variables in case of Ambo
University third year sport science female students. The study applied a quantitative
research approach and quasi-experimental design to attain the intended objectives. For
this study the research has selected all eight female participated in Ambo University sport
science students as a sample by using comprehensive sampling method. The study was
carried out for two consecutive months of aerobics exercise that was given three days per
week for about eight week each minimum 40 minutes for the training regular program.
The physical and physiological variables: cardiorespiratory, body composition, resting
heart rate and blood glucose level were tested in the study. For the analysis software
(SPSS version 23) was utilized. The gathered data was analyzed using paired samples T test, mean and standard deviation. The significant level of P value <0.05 was considered.
As result from the study selected aerobic exercise was significantly improved the physical
and physiological variables of ambo university third year sport science female student on
cardiorespiratory endurance p-value=.002, body composition p-value=.002, resting heart
rate p-value=.000 So as the study result revealed selected aerobic exercise has a
significant effect on physical and physiological variable of ambo university third year
sport science female student. Therefore, the researcher recommended that the female
students participate in aerobic exercise.
