Application of best project management practices is of critical importance for organizational performance. Project management is believed as an effective and resourceful method for achieving a goal that is better than the other available methods, processes, and techniques. Hence, this study aimed to assess the project management practice of Ambo Secondary Special boarding school built with an outlay of over 275 million birr in Ambo municipality public sector, Ambo special boarding schools constructions projects are delayed, costs are overrun and poor quality. These problems are mostly caused by improper application of PM methodology and lack of standardized PM. This study finds the suitability of project management in Ambo municipality school infrastructure projects. The data were collected from total of 120 respondents through interview, focused group discussion and questionnaires from the total population 480. The findings of Ambo special board secondary school infrastructure projects must have to apply proper project management and relatively follow the PM methodology for successful completions of the projects. the study recommends that the organization should give more emphasis or considerable attention to processes related to project control, risk, procurement, cost, and time, during the implementation of each process group in order to strengthen the practice of project management in Ambo Ifa Boru special Boarding school |
