dc.description.abstract Background: - The danger signs are not the actual obstetric complications, but symptoms that are easily identified by non-clinical personnel. Danger signs of pregnancies are a warning signs that women encounter during pregnancy. Awareness of pregnancy danger sign in pregnant women is the essential first step in taking appropriate and timely health care service. Objective:-This study was aimed to assess awareness of pregnancy danger signs and associated factors among pregnant women in Burayu Town, Oromia, Ethiopia, 2022 Methods:Community based cross-sectional study was conducted from November to December 2022 on 418 pregnant women selected by systematic random sampling technique. Interviewer administered structured questionnaire was used to collect data. The data were cleaned and entered into Epi-Info version 7 and exported to SPSS version 26 for analysis. A descriptive data was summarized by using frequencies, means and percentages. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression were used to assess association between awareness of obstetric danger signs and various independent variable. Adjusted odds ratio (AOR) with 95% confidence interval was calculated to measure association. After Hosmer- Lemeshow checked for model fitness, statistical significance was declared at p-value less than 0.05. Result: A total of 418 mothers were involved in the study. Out of the total study participants, the overall good awareness of pregnancy danger signs was (45.9%); 95%CI: 41.1% - 50.66%).The most frequently key pregnancy danger sign identified by participants was vaginal bleeding 314(75.1%). Place of delivery (AOR=4.84; 95% CI: .08-9.6), time taken on foot to the health facility (AOR=3.09; 95% CI: 1.08, 4.07), husband accompany during visit (AOR=10.32; 95% CI: 5.14-20.74) were found to have statistically significant association with being have awareness about pregnancy danger signs. Conclusion: - According to this study, the awareness of pregnancy danger signs was poor. Some of the factors associated with this awareness were antenatal care attendance, place of delivery, and presence of Radio/TV: -Hence, it recommended that health education, community mobilization and ensure women empowerment will be more important about pregnancy danger sign and its association. en_US
