Increased anthropogenic activities such as the discharge of industrial, agricultural and sewage
waste effluents into the environment pose a potential threat to the fresh water ecosystem
including lakes. Heavy metals and physicochemical parameters are amongst the most serious
environmental pollutants to humans and aquatic fauna owing to their high toxicity, abundance
and ease of accumulation. Fincha, Amarti and Nashe lakes are manmade lakes located at Horo
Guduru Wolegga zone,Oromia Regional State in the western Ethiopia. In view of this, some
