dc.description.abstract Increased anthropogenic activities such as the discharge of industrial, agricultural and sewage waste effluents into the environment pose a potential threat to the fresh water ecosystem including lakes. Heavy metals and physicochemical parameters are amongst the most serious environmental pollutants to humans and aquatic fauna owing to their high toxicity, abundance and ease of accumulation. Fincha, Amarti and Nashe lakes are manmade lakes located at Horo Guduru Wolegga zone,Oromia Regional State in the western Ethiopia. In view of this, some physicochemical parameters (electrical conductivity (EC)and total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), and Phosphate ion en_US
