dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the psycho social impacts of high payment bride on Oromo cultural kadhaa marriage in the Dawo District. This study employed qualitative research paradigm. The study was also used qualitative research approach method. They were included twelve (12) Interviewers and twenty (20) FGD respondents. Populations of these studies were included Abbaa Gadaa, Local Elders, Expert, Qarree and Qeerroo that existing in the study area. Primary and secondary sources of data were used for the study purpose. Interview and Focus Group Discussion were method of data collection. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and interview were analyzed using description and narration. The findings of this research revealed that the high payment Bride price negatively affect traditional marriage process, existing marriage and stability of marriage. Another findings of this study was also revealed that follow of modernization, virginity, to refuse the existing culture, break to follow the Gadaa system were leading factors for the way of payment high bride price and still today there was the high payment bride price in the study area. Thus based on the results I recommend that the concerned body such as Culture and tourism office of study area, Abba Gadaa, local elders and communities, it is good if they give attention to minimize the high bride price in the study area. en_US
