dc.description.abstract This study examined the impact of leadership Style on improving workers performance in Ejersa Lafo district. Specifically, the study tried to examine the impact of autocratic, laissez-faire, transactional and transformational leadership style to workers performance. The target population of the study was ten sectors of government employees among 28 sectors government employees in Ejersa Lafo Woreda, West Shoa, Oromia, Ethiopia. Simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were used to draw sample from the population. Data was collected by using questionnaires and distributed to 152 respondents and only 137 questionnaires were successfully collected for the data analysis. The collected data was analysed through descriptive and inferential statistics. The cronbach’s alpha reliability test which can ensure high reliability result was conducted on variable. The correlation coefficient result showed that, there was a relationship between employee performance and autocratic, laissez-faire, transactional and transformational leadership style.Findings from the multiple linear regression analysis found that, autocratic, laissez-faire, transactional and transformational leadership style were significant factors affecting employee performance. Accordingly, this study recommends that good and effective leadership style is what organization needs to survive in this competitive and hostile environment. Therefore, organization should implement leadership training and development programs in order to meet the essential knowledge, skills and abilities necessary in developing the leadership capabilities of employees. Good relationship between management and employees will motivate employees to perform at their best which will result in increase in employees’ performance, which tends to improve organizational productivity. en_US
