Abstract:
This study attempts to assess and analyse leadership practices and leader’s role which improve the workers performance at Ginchi town municipality. The data was used and collected through questionnaires from71 participants. The data were presented and discussed using descriptive statistics frequency to assess the effect of leadership practices on employee performance.
The paper result reveals that in short working condition is not suitable, no workers promotion for their effort , workers did not empowered in decision making and also the leader ship did not provide training for the workers in order to improve their performance and the leadership practice have affected employment management relations and performance of the workers. After analysing the result, it was recommended that to improve workers performance and to attain the objectives of Municipality, leadership recognizes needs of the workers, employee appropriate motivational tool such as promotion of staff based on merit and skills, training, provide suitable working environment, supporting in participating in decision making and provide leadership practice that will improve worker performance.
